Hastings Laboratory of Ichthyology

Our lab studies fish systematics in the broad sense.  We document patterns of biodiversity and explore the evolutionary and ecological processes producing and maintaining diversity.  We work mainly in four research areas.  These are as follows:

• Systematics and phylogeny of fishes

• Behavioral ecology and behavioral evolution

• Marine biogeography

• Conservation biology
